Howden Show promotes agriculture and horticulture in the local community. As part of our charity status, the show awards grants to individuals and organisations for the benefit of the public, for agriculture, horticulture, countryside and rural pursuits.

Howden Agricultural and Horticultural Show is a registered charity (no.1146788) which holds an annual show to promote agriculture and horticulture in the local community.
Grants
Howden Show awards grants to individuals and organisations who meet the following criteria:
• Grant funding must be spent on projects which meet the show’s charitable objective of “promotion/advancement, for the benefit of the public, of agriculture, horticulture, countryside and rural pursuits”.
Additional information
• Applications are accepted throughout the year.
• Grants are awarded up to £2000 per application.
• Spending of the grant must commence within six months of the award and fully spent within two years.
• Repeat applications can not be made within one year of a successful grant.
• Applications can be for specific projects or funding towards ongoing costs.
• Capital expenditure over £500 to have three quotes/costing options.
• Applications can be for the full amount or a contribution towards a project which has alternative funding.
• Full breakdown of costings is required in all grant applications.
• Successful applicants will be required to provide a report within six months of the funding being agreed, stating how the grant has been spent and in time for the next annual show.

California Gardens – Providing bulbs to the community to support wellbeing during the 1st national lockdown in April 2020
Read School, Drax – To provide outdoor learning opportunities for children at Read School Drax
Howden Town Council – Assistance with the Howden Community Woodland
Total financial commitment for the last 8 years is £13,500.
