Howden Show is a much-anticipated event held annually on The Ashes Playing Field in Howden, East Riding of Yorkshire. Here’s all the information you’ll need to get there and enjoy the day safely.

Showground Entry

Access to the Howden Showground is available via:

  • Bishops Manor Gate
  • Parsons Lane (off Treeton Road)
No On-Site Parking
  • There is no general parking on the showground
  • There is no Blue Badge parking on the showground

Alternative Parking

General and Blue Badge parking is available in the local East Riding Council car parks, which are free on Sundays:

  • Bishops Manor House Car Park, Hailgate, DN14 7SZ
Vehicle Restrictions

For safety reasons, no vehicle movements are permitted on the showground after 08:15.
Vehicle access will only resume once the site has been safely cleared of visitors.

Important notices

  • Vehicle Movement: Once on the showground, no vehicles can move after 8:15 AM until advised that the site is safe.
  • Parking Restrictions: Please follow all parking instructions to ensure smooth entry and exit from the event.

Showday Safety Information

  • Everything reasonably practical has been done to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those attending Howden Show.
  • All visitors, traders, staff and competitors may be subject to enhanced security checks, including (but not limited to) bag searches and metal detector checks.
  • In the event of an accident involving competitors or visitors to the show, stewards and paramedics are available to help. Any accident or incident must be reported to the Secretary’s Tent or the nearest steward. All stewards will be wearing yellow, high visibility vests.
  • Access points to and from the site and rings must be kept clear. Visitors and competitors must heed requests made by officials and stewards in relation to parking and the movement of vehicles and animals around the site.

Facilities

  • Mobile Toilets: There are mobile toilets throughout the grounds, including disability-accessible and baby-changing facilities. Please leave them clean after use.
  • Animal Areas: Visitors are advised to wash their hands before entering and upon leaving the areas of the show ground where animals are on display.

General information

  • Compliance: The Howden Show Committee reserves the right to exclude any person who does not comply with event regulations or reasonable requests by the show officials and stewards.
