Howden Show is made up of a small committee of volunteers who juggle work and family commitments to put on this event for the community each year.
By this point in the run up we have all experienced an array on emotions… exhaustion, stress, anxiety…. never again!
As the marquees go up, the show field comes to life. The support of volunteers and community groups rallying around us and giving up their time for a few hours or more over the weekend reminds us what a special place we live in, and the true meaning of community spirit!
And let’s be honest, that’s what it’s all about!

How can I help at Howden Show?
We welcome volunteers for all sorts of roles, from event setup and registration to assisting with stalls, directing visitors, or helping out with entertainment. Whether you’re happy to lend a hand for a couple of hours or want to be involved in the lead-up to the Show, there’s something for everyone.
How to get involved
1. Join us at a meeting
We hold regular meetings to discuss the event and roles available. It’s a great way to meet the team, ask questions, and find out how you can help.
Meetings start at 7.30pm, Howden Town Council meeting room – 17 Bridgegate, Howden DN14 7AE
